How to always be at peace
How do you achieve a constant state of inner peace?
Considering that inner peace isn’t an emotion, (I believe) it’s not like being happy or sad. So if you’re happy, which is a positive peak (I believe), there will also be a peak of unhappiness, because I see it as a dual thing, a thing of energy that rises and falls. And I would like to arrive not at a state of happiness (which I already have because I lack nothing in life, thank God) but I would like to arrive at a state of inner peace where I can only express love and kindness towards myself (which I already have because I love myself) and others.
But the question is: how can I maintain this state of inner peace consistently? Because I know that throughout my earthly life there will always be internal conflicts that cause me to react with nervousness and so on. I believe it’s impossible to be constantly at peace (I do).
Everything you say is perfect: inner peace is not an emotion, it is a state of Being. Happiness, like sadness, are emotions, therefore they are linked, managed, and nourished by the emotional body, which is guided by the mental body. Therefore, the difference is profound and, as you have understood, in the earthly dimension the mental, emotional, physical (but also your physical bodies (the causal body, which is the body in which your programs reside) will continue to be active and act to allow you to have the earthly experience. However, as you have already understood, being at peace is possible. The confusion arises from believing that if I am at peace I do not feel emotions: this is not true, since you are inserted into a dual, earthly dimension through and by means of your dense bodies. So, where is the difference? The difference lies in your determination to train your focus: focus on the Center of your Center, focus on recognizing yourself as a Divine Being who projects outward what it needs to Expand. In order for you to understand: the emotion of happiness, like the emotion of sadness, is closely connected to what happens outside of you; therefore, there is something happening outside of me that makes me happy, and if that something isn’t there, it makes me sad. Do you understand what I mean?
Yes
Now, inner peace is the awareness that everything that happens in life is a projection of what is important for me to observe about myself. Therefore, when faced with adversity, whether in a relationship or a situation, if I observe with the awareness that what I’m observing is my own program, I immediately return to focusing on the Center of my Center. And it is by working on that program (which, if it manifests, is because it’s ready to be transmuted), that I rediscover inner peace, ceasing to focus on what’s happening outside or on a result I want to achieve outside. Is this clear to you? Yes.
So it’s the point of view that changes, and by changing your point of view you maintain peace. So there will always be events that allow you to perceive the “peak of happiness,” as well as events that allow you to perceive the “peak of sadness.” But by returning to the Center, you will once again feel the peace within you, which will leave the activity of the emotional and mental bodies in the background, as you will be focused on maintaining awareness of your Divinity. Is this clear to you?
Yes.
To do this (you asked how), I ask you: how does a young athlete become a champion?
With dedication, with self-sacrifice, with a serious, iron-clad mindset that knows what it takes to become a champion.
So, you are a very talented athlete, because You Are Divine, but without training, your talent remains just “talent”; your potential remains, but it isn’t put to use in the life you are aware of. When you choose to dedicate yourself to Who You Really Are, and therefore activate that dedication, that daily training in inner listening, you gradually become your own champion. Is this clear to you?
Yes.
So the “how” is in choosing to return to your Center and listen to the Inner Silence. Is this clear to you?
Absolutely. I’m aware of that, and that’s the beauty of it. The problem is that this period of my life is… let’s say a “rough sea,” so it’s difficult to even simply meditate, because by the evening I’m physically and mentally tired.
Precisely because it’s a “rough sea,” you need to find calm. Precisely because you already know (because you’ve experienced it) that it’s through Inner Silence that you find peace, that’s precisely why you’re here; otherwise, you wouldn’t have answered the call. Is that clear to you?
Yes.
Now, what you need to detach from is in the old mode, since you are tied to the idea that to find inner peace you need to meditate, to be in silence even externally, to find a place that is just yours without interference from the illusory other. In reality, your daily training is to return to your Center, with the awareness of Being One, as you live life. In order for you to understand: when you’re talking to someone and feel anger rising within you, take a deep breath, go to the Center, and let yourself be guided. Only with the intention of returning to the Center does your anger subside, your emotional charge calm; but you must choose to do so: you must be guided by the Divine that You Are, and not by the “little self” that is prey to fear, anxiety, anger, and past experiences.
