Take a saucepan, fill it with water, bring it to a boil, and prepare a hard-boiled egg. All done? That’s good: if you do it every day, you can live up to 100 years! And you may even live longer than 100 years. This is a simple diet that Amantina dos Santos Duvirgem, who just turned 123, says is the secret of her longer life.

Amantina is the oldest woman in the world (or at least she claims to be), lives in Brazil and is also known as Dona Júlia. For her birthday her friends organised a big party. Although she cannot speak, she can still communicate effectively. She wanted to reveal her secret to all the attendees: her longevity diet, eating a hard-bolide egg every day. Amantina has maintained her health by following a few dietary rules. She enjoys eating traditional Brazilian cake called Bolo de Polvilho, which is made from cassava flour. According to her caregiver, Maria Edenir Lúcio, who has been looking after her for 20 years, Amantina does not have diabetes, hypertension, or headaches. She does not take any medication and loves to wear earrings and bracelets. In addition, she does not have grey hair, which is a sign of good health.

Currently, Dona Júlia resides in a custom-made house located in a small town in the state of Paraná. To commemorate Tibagi’s 123-year anniversary, an opulent birthday celebration was organized in the hall of the São Sebastião Chapel. The grandmother relished a slice of cake and subsequently, with some assistance, even managed to take a few dance steps, which led to a general atmosphere of joy.

Despite doubts about the authenticity of her age, the atmosphere of enthusiasm around the lady’s claimed age of 121 years old remains undeterred. Guinness World Records, the authority on record-breaking, does not feature her name due to the lack of a birth certificate to confirm her claimed birth date of June 22, 1900. In contrast, American-Spanish Branyas Morera, who turned 116 years old on March 4th of this year, is recognized as the oldest person in the world by international rankings. Nonetheless, whether or not Angelina’s longevity is real or legendary, it remains a cause for celebration and an opportunity to learn the secret to living a long life.

Of course! There are plenty of other recipes out there. For instance, Ana Daniel, an English lady who is over 100 years old, shared her secret to a long life. She says, “The key to living until 108? Having lots of dogs instead of children.” This has been a consistent choice for her, as she has always preferred dogs over people. Ana resides in the tranquil Codnor Park Care Home in Derbyshire, England. Although she never had a family of her own, she has had as many as six greyhounds at different times in her life. Her birthday celebration was even featured by the BBC.

According to a Harvard University study, the key to a long and happy life may be simpler than we think. Positive relationships with family, friends, and neighbors have been shown to be strongly linked to longevity and well-being. This study has been ongoing since 1938, making it the longest ever conducted, with participants now down to just 60 from an initial 724. The results are clear: while a healthy diet, exercise, and financial stability are important, they are not enough on their own. The gift of a long and fulfilled life comes from fostering positive relationships with those closest to us. Perhaps the secret to Grandma Júlia’s impressive 123 years of life was not just her daily hard-boiled eggs, but her ability to get along with everyone around her, without disputes or conflicts.

Hard-boiled eggs, cassava flour,
dogs, positive relationships
or more simply,
for everything is One uncreated and ageless
and you are that One who is everything and can everything,
believe that the duration of your earthly life
Will be what you think it should be?
